The Restaurant
The Homestead is set in a 1930's island home on Norfolk Island and has been in the Menghetti family for 40 years.
Kurt and Jill Menghetti opened its doors as the Homestead Restaurant in October 2019. The team pairs simple ingredients with the elemental technique of cooking over embers to enhance the contemporary dining experience.
At the heart of the kitchen is the wood fueled Argentinian Perilla grill engineered by Kurt's dad. The menu is designed around cooking over embers to intensify and develop the depth of flavour of the seasonal local produce, meat and seafood found on Norfolk Island.
100 Acre Farm
The Homestead is situated on the western side of Norfolk Island adjacent to the 100 Acre Forest and giant Morten Bay figs. 100 Acre farm is a working farm that produces beef and vegetables commercially. The Homestead embraces the farm to plate philosophy as well as sourcing line caught fish from Norfolk's' clean wild waters.
Forager Sourdough
We also bake Norfolk's only true wood-fired naturally fermented sourdough which has its own cult following. Our Forager sourdough will be a staple on our seasonal menus.
